Bummed a rather rich blog post I’d created with my TouchPad never posted or even ended up in drafts. Frustrating. OK looking for alternate “blog portability apps” for my upcoming trip… That or I’ll take a week long blog break… we’ll see!
My webhost made an error, effectively removing all my work, posts, updates, etc. across all my blogs. They’d restored a backup from months back instead of a current one, resulting in other chaos and many missed posts. In the interest of moving forward I’ve reassembled what I could here from cache and fortunately had local copies of this and my main blog. Unfortunately, I didn’t have this for homemade wine and others.
The situation sucks but like any other I’m learning from it and moving forward. Making blogs isn’t my full time gig so it’s not my full time focus. I’m looking at this side business differently as a result of what’s happened and have decided to focus on selling off a majority of my VRE (virtual real estate) in order to focus heavier on my main career and hopefully gain some more time for enhanced fitness as well. Only so much time…
In honor of my web host accidentally deleting all my blogs, I leave you this song:
This weekend’s revelation is that weekends can be used for catch up but should be used for enjoyment (or my choice if catching up) – I’ve noticed that occasional run over, including weekday phone calls pushed to the occasional night or weekend has become the norm at the expense of sleep, exercise, and overall life enjoyment. I keep circling back to phones as if I’m supposed to be somehow working with the technology that harms me the most. I mean if people can say “I don’t use Twitter” can’t I say “I don’t use Phones”? I’ve made a dozen blogs about the topic, and realize that maybe I need to be the catalyst, the person who informs the planet that newer technology is better for us. We really need a ‘phone steps’ program. Taking on as action item.
Ok – enough – that phone exercise made me realize that the majority of my great times are stolen by the phone – I’m glad I did this exercise, aware I’ve lost a great deal of time this past decade out of being guilted to be on calls – but enough. If I can’t get this straightened out I may just turn off all phones – it’s just an ancient technology that’s ruining my otherwise rather awesome life. On a happy note, animals have been particularly fun and been keeping up with my P90x workouts.
Working on a new product called Broadcasting Yourself that I’ll be releasing at the end of March – the concept is teaching people how to best package their ideas and messages for the masses. I’m excited about it and thinking of the deeper value of consistent video brand messaging. More soon…
